Bryce Canyon Trail Ride
Mark your calendar save the dates September 6th through September 10th and come along with Red Steagall and me as we go back to the Bryce Canyon area for another trail ride in one of the most spectacular and scenic areas the West has to offer. Come see for yourself this wonderland of red canyons, towering red spirals and spectacular hoodoos.
Although Red Steagall is best known for his wonderful Texas Swing Music he is beloved by many Texas Cowboys for the quiet time they have spent with him around chuck wagon campfires on some remote Texas Ranch. In their opinion Red Steagall's best music has never been heard by the public. If you asked Red where his favorite place to play music is, he might say Nashville, California, Spain or Germany or he might say some lonesome cow camp in West Texas. After this trail ride he might even say around our chuck wagon campfire at Bryce Canyon. For more information about Red go to www.RedSteagall.com.
Imagine if you can how the early Mormon Pioneers felt as you discover the beauty and solitude of this wild and colorful country for yourself. Bryce Canyon became a National Park by an Act of Congress in 1938. Considered by many to be the Crown Jewel in our National Parks system the Canyon area attracts over 1.5 million visitors annually from ever corner of the world.
The Paiute Indians called this area home long before the Mormon settlers arrived. We will ride trails established by these Indians and early pioneer homesteaders and later used by such famous outlaws as Butch Cassidy and other renegades of the time.
Total cost for this 3 day 4 night adventure is a modest $1,600.00 per person and includes everything necessary to make this a true western adventure you will never forget. We furnish your own personal horse (or there is a discount if you bring your own) all food, tents, guides, wranglers, cooks and cowboy chuck wagon camp.
Space is limited to 25 guests, reservations are on a first come first served basis. A deposit of $400.00 is required to confirm your reservation, another $400.00 will be due on June 1, 2013 with the balance of $800.00 due 30 days before departure. Our trolley is patterned after the original horse car that first appeared on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland in 1828 and later operated in most major cities in America.
By the mid 1800s there were over 400 street trolley companies in the United States operating approximately 6,000 miles of track carrying 188 million passengers per year. The number of animals needed to pull these horse cars in a large city was staggering. At one time, The West End Street Railway of Boston ran the world's largest system and maintained about 8,000 horses and mules in order to provide service on a daily basis from early morning until late evening. Electric-powered streetcars replaced horse cars in late 1887 and early 1888 after the first successful electric powered system was installed in Richmond, Virginia.
